On Saturday, June 28 at approximately 2:40 p.m., the ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 3500 block of Casorso Road. Flames were visible coming from the roof of a two-story home when crews arrived.

Fortunately, all residents had safely evacuated the home before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.

The fire department responded with four engines, one rescue truck, a command vehicle, and 23 firefighters. Crews launched an initial exterior attack to quickly knock down the flames, then transitioned to an interior response to fully extinguish the fire.

The fire caused significant damage to the second floor of the home. The residents were displaced and are receiving temporary accommodation support from Emergency Support Services (ESS).

The cause of the fire remains under investigation but is not believed to be suspicious. RCMP and Emergency Health Services (EHS) also attended the scene.

Residents are reminded to ensure their smoke detectors are working, as early warning remains critical in emergencies.
