Okanagan Collegeѻý newest dean is returning to her home province.
Caitlin Hartigan has been hired to helm the trades and apprenticeship department.
Originally from Vancouver Island, she leaves her role as director of programming and client operations at Women Building Futures in Edmonton to join the college.
She was previously dean of skilled trades at Northwestern Polytechnic in Grande Prairie, Alta., and dean of trades and heavy industrial at Keyano College in Fort McMurray.
“This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to a field I’m deeply passionate about—supporting students, empowering instructors and strengthening the trades that build our communities,” said Hartigan in a press release.
Okanagan College offers more than 20 trades programs. The college also has programs to increase access for women to the trades as well as dedicated spaces for other equity deserving groups.
The college also added two new associate deans this summer. Steven Crema joined the science and technology department, while the school of business added Agnes Weighill.
