For the 11th straight year, ѻýѻý New Yearѻý Eve countdown will be set to Eastern time. Midnight comes three hours early on Dec. 31 at Stuart Park, where a 9 p.m. fireworks display will cap the annual ‘New York New Years’.
“We’re so pleased to welcome our community and their holiday guests to join us in Stuart Park again for a rocking’ New Years Eve,” Renata Mills of Festivals ѻý says in a release.
“Now, more than ever, with the rising cost of living taking a toll on peopleѻý wallets, free events like ours filled with incredible entertainment and activities will give our community an affordable way to gather and welcome a new year full of possibility.”
Bands scheduled to perform on the Stuart Park stage, beginning at 6 p.m. and continuing to 9 p.m., include Homestretch Band, Rule 857, and Groovalicious.
Other events include kids’ games, free goodies, four food trucks, free face-painting, 1,000 free glow sticks, and skating on the outdoor ice rink.
The countdown to midnight will be conducted by Mayor Tom Dyas and Simon Mills, president of presenting sponsor Valley First (First West Credit Union).
