ѻýѻý The Cavernous is a heavy, psychedelic electronic duo that are masters of the unusual, and their newest concept album, “Please Hold,” is no exception. Imagine music that blurs the line between hold-tone kitsch and ambient electronica: dial 877-420-9159 and you’ll enter a world of lofi beats, eerie downtempo, and uncanny automated operators. Created by Rob McLaren and Jesse Barrette, “Please Hold” is a meditation on mortality, consciousness, and the strange comfort of liminality. Expect synths, sequencers, and a journey thatѻý as unnerving as it is hypnotic. Experience it live at their release show this Saturday at Dunnenzies Downtown, 1555 Ellis Street at 7 p.m.
